“An endowed spectacular scenery, graced with dramaticmountains, golden beaches, pristine indigenous forests,
beautiful lakes and meandering rivers.”
Along its stunning coast the Garden Route, South Africa displays steep rocky cliffs alternating with white sand beaches and dense evergreen montane rainforests. Numerous rivers originate in the bordering mountain range which is part of the Great Escarpment. They meander their way through the green coastal plain and eventually flow into the Indian Ocean.

Ocean Blue Adventures offers specialist Whale and Dolphin encounters giving guests a chance to experience marine creatures in their own environment and making them aware of Marine Mammal Conservation and Ecological Education. The trips are lead by experienced, qualified, friendly and enthusiastic skippers and guides who offer person attention within small groups (maximum 12 guests per boat). On all tours the comfort and safety of guests are paramount. All the custom-built craft are fully equipped with life jackets (including children’s) and all necessary safety equipment. Warm and waterproof all-weather gear and sun block are provided, as are refreshments. All tours and encounters with marine animals are conducted strictly according to current regulations and conservation guidelines.
The ecological adventure leaves from Central Beach with a beach launch, and heads east past the bird sanctuary and Keurbooms beach to Arch Rock. Here one usually encounters large groups of Bottlenose and small pods of the rare Indo-Pacific Humpback Dolphins, as well as some shark species. From Arch Rock we head out into the middle of the bay where pelagic seabirds are normally to be found some 7km from the shore. Out there resident Bryde's whales may be seen, as well as Common Dolphins or Southern Right and Humpback Whales and even Orcas. The trip traverses the Bay to the point of Robberg Peninsula where one sees groups of Whales and pods of Dolphins. Cruising back along the inside of Robberg, one sees the unique geology from this unusual viewpoint and can closely observe the Cape Fur Seal Colony.
Finally we head back along the Robberg beach while being given a brief rundown on the history and shipwrecks of the area. After passing the Beacon Island Hotel, built on the site of an original Whaling Station, the experience ends with a beach landing, again on Central Beach, where 4X4 vehicles will meet you.
