About Zimbabwe
The size of Britain, Zimbabwe's high plateau is the center piece, surrounded by open woodlands. The Zambezi and Limpopo Rivers provide the Northern and Southern borders, with Kalahari thornveld in the North West and mountains in the East.
Victoria Falls and Lake Kariba are famous attractions. Wildnerness areas, granite rock, flora and fauna abound. There is a great history and culture to Zimbabwe. Rare black rhino, white rhino, buffalo and herds of up to 10000 elephant can be seen in the Hwange National Park. Birdlife is prolific in Zimbabwe’s creeks, where the fishing is seasonal. Bushman paintings and famous rock art galleries are other sites to be seriously considered.
World Watch Advisory™ Zimbabwe's national parks "are safe to visit, as they are far from the cities where the instability exists".

World Watch Advisory™
Political tension and dire economic conditions continue to spur instability
in Zimbabwe.
The political crisis in Zimbabwe continues to adversely affect the security and economic situation. The ruling ZANU-PF party, lead by President Robert Mugabe, and the opposition Movement for Democratic Change (MDC) continue to clash and undermine each other. MDC leader Morgan Tsvangirai allegedly survived an assassination attempt July 2, 2004 when he was giving an address to a provincial assembly. Tsvangirai later speculated that the attack by axe-wielding assailants was the beginning of a violent campaign that will continue until the March 2005 parliamentary elections. Political tension and associated instability will likely increase in the run-up to the elections.
The ongoing political crisis, which led to international sanctions, continues to exert pressure on the economy and shortages of fuel, food and currency are common. The poor economic situation is contributing to a significant rise in crime and an increasingly dire humanitarian crisis. These conditions could lead to mass migrations of people to urban or border areas.
Maintain a high level of personal security awareness at all times. Avoid large crowds and demonstrations. Avoid discussions regarding the political situation in Zimbabwe.
Several countries, including Australia, Canada, the U.K. and the U.S. maintain travel warnings advising their citizens to defer travel to the country. Travelers who remain in or travel to Zimbabwe despite the warnings should register and maintain contact with their embassy or consulate.
